I used to live a very troubled life in Kampala. From the outside, people thought I was fine because I had work and friends, but inside I was suffering badly. I had terrible anger, fear at night, constant bad dreams, and nothing in my life seemed to move forward. Every business I started failed. I turned to alcohol and spent many nights in bars trying to forget my problems, but things only became worse.
One day, my aunt invited me to a prayer service at church. At first I refused because I thought pastors were just after money, but after many struggles I finally agreed to go. During the service, the man of God preached about bondage and how Jesus delivers people from every chain. As he was praying, I felt something heavy leave my body. I started crying uncontrollably and felt peace for the first time in many years.
After that day, my life began to change slowly. The nightmares stopped. I lost the desire for alcohol and bad company. I restored relationships with my family, and I even got a stable job after months of unemployment. People who knew me before were shocked because they could see a completely different person.
Today I stand to testify that God delivered me and gave me a second chance in life. I am no longer living in fear and confusion. I thank the Lord for His mercy and power because what doctors, friends, and my own strength could not do, God did for me. Hallelujah.
